Check out our latest single MIWA
We are back with a brand-new track Miwa (Mirror in Haitian Creole) to be featured on our upcoming EP, scheduled to be released this November. This afro-funk influenced song is now available on all streaming services and premiered on HHQC.
A music video directed by Cotola supports the single. This in-demand director is also a well-known Montreal rapper and beatmaker (Agua Negra, Obia the Chef).
This song addresses the dual complexity of the human psyche. We try to navigate between our personal values and what the society expects of us. In this relentless struggle, it’s better to be strategic while maintaining our essence intact. To win this battle, we have to believe once and for all in what we see in the mirror.
Sa nou we nan miwa…
Pa vin di’l li biza…
Yo pedi non Kulwa…
Pa mande’m pou kisa…
What we see in the mirror
Don’t tell us what’s bizzare
They are lost in a corridor
Don’t ask us why)
To do this, there’s nothing better than flows and free rhymes freshly placed on breakbeat accompanied by catchy brasses crowned with an engaging chorus, strongly influenced by afro-funk grooves.
